March 24, 2008, 1:27 p.m.Once again this society tries to control and dictate what adults can and can't do with their lives.
Unless they are harming others.
ITS NONE OF YOUR DAM BUSINESS!
These are adults not children and they don't need their lives police buy the self righteous of this society.
You won't be happy till our freedoms are totally eraticated.
Get off your God complex.

March 25, 2008, 10:07 a.m.If there's one problem that our society DOES NOT have today, it's the lack of feely available porn. Any child who has access to an unprotected Internet browzer can find it in seconds. Thirty seconds of T.V. demonstrates that even the smallest child is exposed to a quantity of inappropriate sexual content that was unimagined when I was a kid in the 70s. The Supreme Court has ruled that pornography is not equal to free speech, regardless of what Larry Flint is saying.

March 24, 2008, 4:20 p.m.There is nothing wrong with porn as long as it is not watched to the exclusion of all other things. I enjoy some porn but not all of it. I think CandidaRoyale had something going with her porn.

March 24, 2008, 11:14 p.m.i think that it depends on what type of relationship you have. some people do fine with it while other find it to be a detriment. you just have to discuss it with each other and find what works best.

March 24, 2008, 11:24 p.m.I just want to post a link to a video I watched lately. It is a presentation by Gail Dines, professor of Sociology and women's studies.
As someone who has never identified as "anti-porn" I wanted to see what she had to say and I personally found the points she made about consumer culture, and the commodification of the body very interesting.

March 25, 2008, 3:59 a.m.Porn is so prevalent in our society because people want it. Religious people who speak against it have a lot of hypocrite's doing the speaking. From the pastor the to audience. How many pastors have been found having some kind of sexual affair? And most recently Ted Copeland was discovered have a homosexual affair. And if porn is such a sinful, dirty act then all these married people are committing sinful, dirty acts every time they have sex, they are doing the same thing the actors do in the porn videos (well close to the same, anyway). People get bored and need variety, something different to break the boredom, yes, even in the bedroom. Just because a guy or gal watches porn does not mean they don't love their partners, sex and love are two different things. Sex is usually better when you have affection for the person, but not always. And if the videos were more realistic, pornography would probably be a lot shorter and more boring, guy ****** in 5 minutes and leaves the girl, boring!

March 25, 2008, 10:11 a.m.I agree with most of your comment, however I must point out that I think you mean Ted Haggard and not Ted Copeland. You have conflated two different Christian ministers. Kenneth Copeland is a douche, but as far as I know he had not been accused of or found out to be a homosexual.

March 25, 2008, 4:35 p.m.What I don't like is when my wife was younger she would watch porn quite often with me or even alone, not she gets angry or disgusted by it. When she could identify herself with the performers she was ok, now being older and a little heavier she see and thinks less of herself. And yes I tell her how beautiful she is all the time, and she really is which makes it even easier btw.

March 26, 2008, 2:47 a.m.Hi Jaydee
Have you asked her why? Perhaps there is another reason? People's opinions change over time. I know for myself the more I watch videos like the one I posted, the more I question the influence it is having in society. For me the verdict is not in yet, but I definitely see things differently now ( I'm the same size, so I know that has nothing to do with my change in perception)
I really would recommend the video- it at least makes you challenge yourself.

March 26, 2008, 12:40 p.m.I watched the video that you linked to and found it to distort facts and be very self serving. It starts out with here attack on Playboy and what she claims was it's intent, first of all her statement that Heffner defined what a playboy is or was is absurd. Playboy is a well known term to refer to a young man of some means who doesn't take life very serious and wants easily obtained entertainment whether it be a night on the town or a young woman. In many a society they were also referred to as scoundrels or similar names but identified non the less. She also goes on to say Heffner came up with the idea of using sex to sell commodities but lets be totally honest here, women have been sold for family gain since the dawn of time, hell Samuel Champlain married a 12 year old girl to guarantee funding for his colony in the new world.
